Running Through Rome And The City's First Urban Resort: The Gran Melia Villa Agrippinapublished Wed, Aug 29 2012 23:33 GMT
The Gran Melia Villa Agrippina stands on the site of what was once home to the Roman Empress, Agrippina, mother to the Roman Emperor, Nero. As the birthplace of Nero himself, these archeological remains unearthed during the construction put the entire project on hold for almost 11 years. The artifacts, soon to be on display in the hotel’s library will add another level of uniqueness to the hotel’s historic background. The entrance of this urban resort showcases columns encased behind glass dating back almost 1,500 years and the beautifully landscaped gardens and outdoor pool provided the perfect relief after touring through the Roman ruins.
