If you are a bear and think the world is going to hell in a hand basket, you will simply have to wait until an ephemeral crisis strikes to prove you right. The permanent optimist is also likely to be proved right at some time in the future--rarely is the pessimist right in the end or that things turn out as great as the bull thinks is likely.
